Hello Everyone!
The book is 141% funded and still 18 days to go! Thank You So Much for your support and for believing in a more regenerative and resilient way of getting our food! 🙂
I wanted to post an update to let everyone know that even though my book already contains much information and methods for increasing resilience in challenging times (through food security/self sufficiency, boosting immune function through nutrient dense foods and creating closed loop gardening systems that make use of onsite waste products for building soil and more) I have been working hard to optimize the content of the book so it will provide even more situation specific empowering and practical DIY information which will enable us to all be in a better place to care for ourselves and our loved ones in these uncertain times.
When we consciously choose to form lasting relationships with the plants, soil life and fungi (through composting, mulching and seed saving) we are involving ourselves in a cycle of reciprocity where each being gives its gifts to another so the cycle of gifts can flow and expand perpetually. This give and take means increased food security, more nutrient dense food, more delicious food, less work growing it and more crop resilience during erratic environmental conditions. When we form lasting relationships with beneficial bacteria (in the kitchen through lactic acid fermentation and in the garden through composting) we offer our gifts to an ancient kingdom of beings that have coped with living conditions more extreme than most of us can imagine. In doing so we increase our body’s resilience through boosting immunity (with the probiotics present in fermented foods) and we boost our garden’s resilience through being able to turn onsite waste into precious compost for building soil structure, fertility, moisture retention and increasing our crop plants resilience against disease. These reciprocal relationships are available to all of us and are powerful tools for building resilience in challenging times.
In conclusion, I would like to share this. We can find peace of mind and resilience through sowing seeds in the rich soil and learning to align our efforts with the Earth’s natural cycles. To that end, I will be sharing techniques that will enable you to grow delicious nutrient dense crops, build soil, preserve your harvests and save seed for the next year. I believe when we invest our time and tlc in the Earth through gardening, we are often gifted with more than we can make use for ourselves and this creates an opportunity for sharing seasonal abundances and seeds with those in need…whether that be neighbors, friends, family and/or community projects. In my heart I know that regenerative gardening means resilience in all situations. It means nurturing both our body and the communities we are a part of (both human communities and communities of many species, aka eco-systems). It means caring for each other, the earth and the future and together we can place our faith in hope for tomorrow through investing in the Earth.
Thank you for choosing hope and regeneration in challenging times. Together we WILL make this world a better place, one regenerative garden at a time. ❤️
